SSI Try Scuba
...And that's how we ended up being SSI only center. A year old now as an SSI center, all our clients and new ones with PADI certification still dive with us. SSI and PADI certifications almost mirror each other at the same levels (different names maybe but similar course). SSI courses are easier structured, come with a lot of online support and educational material and the prices are pocket friendly. Overall both SSI and PADI course great so it comes to a mater of preference. Either way if you are a diver already with PADI certification or any other recognized certiification and you want to experience the best scuba diving experience in Diani you are very much welcome to come join us.
For months everything went smooth sailing, customers where happy they had options. Each scuba instructor at the diving centre was now both SSI and PADI certified. Many of our old clients barely even noticed the difference! The routine remained the same every morning, every dive and every course.
Then unfortunately one scuba certification body decided they could no longer affiliate with us if we offered other institutions certifications. This now meant tough decisions had to be made. Eventually we did in the best interest of our clients, both regular and potential new clients...

SSI Basic Diver
SSI Basic Diver gives you a bit more time underwater than Try Scuba. You practice more skills and spend longer in the water. It is still beginner-friendly and fully guided.This is a good choice if you want more than a quick experience but not yet the full certification. We often take Basic Divers to shallow reef sites near Diani Beach where coral and fish are easy to see. A good step if you want to build comfort before committing to more training. SSI Open Water Diver is the full beginner certification. This is where you become a real diver. You cover basic theory, practice skills in shallow water, and then complete open water dives on the coral reefs of South Coast Kenya. You learn about pressure, breathing, buoyancy, and ocean safety. SSI Scuba Diver
SSI Scuba Diver is a shorter version of the Open Water course. It is designed for people with limited time who still want to get in the water properly.
You learn the basics and can then dive with a professional guide. It works well for any diver staying in Diani Beach for just a few days. Many divers who complete this course go on to upgrade to your full Open Water certification.

Beginner Courses
Diani Beach is one of the best places to learn scuba diving in Kenya. Water temperature stays warm all year. Visibility is usually best from October to April, with December to March often offering the clearest water. Even during the rainy months, good dive spots are available with adjusted plans. Marine life is active throughout the year. Turtle sightings are common during regular and training dives. Fish move through coral structures daily. Occasionally, dolphins pass through. Mornings tend to offer the calmest conditions and the best visibility and sometimes tides affect entry points and which sites are accessible. The SSI Advanced Open Water program is designed to broaden your diving skills and help you experience different types of specialty diving. This course lets certified Open Water Divers try five different specialty dives with direct supervision from an SSI Instructor.
