Course Description

The SSI Open Water Diver course is the most popular and globally recognized entry-level scuba certification. This comprehensive program teaches you all the essential knowledge and skills to dive safely and independently with a buddy, without direct professional supervision, to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). You will learn about scuba equipment, diving physics, dive planning, and emergency procedures. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certification that is accepted worldwide, opening up a lifetime of underwater exploration in Diani Beach and beyond.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 10 years old.

• Medical Fitness: Participants must complete an SSI Medical Statement. A doctor’s clearance may be required for certain medical conditions.

• Swimming Ability: Ability to swim 200 meters without stopping (or 300 meters with mask, snorkel, and fins) and tread water for 10 minutes.

Materials Needed

• Swimsuit and towel.

• Sunscreen and hat.

• All necessary scuba equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tank, weights) for the duration of the course.
