Worth knowing. Scuba Diver certifies you to twelve metres with a guide. Open Water Diver certifies you to eighteen metres, worldwide, with a buddy and no guide required — for $120 more. Almost everyone who can spare the extra day should take the Open Water.

Private training. Any course above can be run one to one for $50 on top of the course price. Private one-to-one training →

Dive packages for certified divers

Guided boat dives on Diani's reefs and the MV Alpha Funguo wreck. Equipment, boat, guide, tanks, weights, hotel transfer, fruit and water included. The more you dive, the less each dive costs.

Package USD KES approx.
2 dive package $110 KES 14,300
4 dive package $210 KES 27,300
6 dive package $300 KES 39,000
8 dive package $390 KES 50,700
10 dive package $480 KES 62,400

Packages are per person and do not expire during your stay. If you are diving several days, take the larger package — an unused dive is easier to solve than a cheaper one you did not buy.

Private trips and charters

Priced per boat rather than per person, so the cost per head falls as your group grows.

What is included as standard

On every course and every guided trip, at no extra charge. If a centre charges separately for any of these, it is worth knowing before you compare prices.

Instructor or guide

In small groups — two to four students in training, small groups on guided dives.

All equipment

Mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tanks and weights, fitted at the centre.

Boat, skipper and crew

Included on every boat trip. Most Diani sites are a short boat ride offshore.

Hotel pickup and return

Across Diani, Galu, Tiwi, Ukunda and selected nearby accommodation.

SSI digital learning materials

On every course, through your own MySSI profile, before you travel.

Fruit, water and juice

Fresh fruit and drinking water at the surface interval, juice back at the centre.

What is confirmed separately

Not hidden extras: items that vary from trip to trip. Each one is stated in writing on your confirmation, whether it sits inside or outside the quoted figure.

SSI certification fee

Payable to SSI on certification courses. Stated as its own line so you can see it.

Marine park fees

Payable per visitor at Kisite-Mpunguti. Confirmed at booking so there is no surprise at the gate.

Nitrox and personal equipment hire

Availability and cost confirmed before you travel rather than at the boat.

Meals beyond fruit and water

Relevant mainly on full-day trips. Arrangements agreed with your booking.

Pickup outside the standard area

Mombasa and further afield are arranged case by case, and we tell you the timing before you book.

Additional or repeat sessions

If you want more practice time than the programme requires, we will price it rather than rush you.

How you can pay

Nothing is due before you arrive. Prices are set in US Dollars and settled in Dollars or Shillings at the day's rate, stated in writing on your confirmation.

Paying

Prices are set in US Dollars and can be settled in Dollars or Shillings. Both figures appear on your confirmation, and we do not change the rate between the message and the payment.

Groups, families and several days

A family or group is quoted as one figure, and several days of diving are quoted as a block. Ask — it is usually better than the sum of the parts.

Weather and cancellation

Terms are stated in writing with your booking, before you pay anything. If we call off a dive for conditions, you are not penalised for our decision.

Send your dates and what you want to do.

You will get a written confirmation the same day, with the inclusions and the exact shilling figure, before you pay anything.
