Course Description

The SSI Stress & Rescue course is one of the most challenging yet rewarding programs for recreational divers. It teaches you how to prevent problems and manage diving emergencies effectively. You will learn to recognize stress in other divers, develop self-rescue skills, and master techniques for assisting tired, panicked, or unconscious divers. This course emphasizes problem-solving and decision-making under pressure, making you a more confident, capable, and safety-conscious dive buddy.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 15 years old.

• Certification: Must be an SSI Advanced Adventurer (or equivalent) and have completed the SSI React Right (or equivalent First Aid/CPR) course.

• Medical Fitness: Participants must complete an SSI Medical Statement. A doctor’s clearance may be required for certain medical conditions.

Materials Needed

• Swimsuit and towel.

• Sunscreen and hat.

• Personal diving equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit).

• Pocket mask (can be purchased or rented).

Materials Provided

• SSI Digital Training Materials for Stress & Rescue.

• All necessary scuba equipment (BCD, regulator, tank, weights) for the duration of the course.

• SSI Digital Certification Card upon completion.
