SSI Basic Diver

Course Description

The SSI Basic Diver program is designed for individuals who have completed the SSI Try Scuba experience and wish to continue their diving education. This program allows participants to dive under the direct supervision of an SSI Dive Professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 feet). It includes additional theory and confined water training, building on the foundational skills learned in Try Scuba. All training from the Basic Diver program can be credited towards the full SSI Open Water Diver certification.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 10 years old.

• Medical Fitness: Participants must complete an SSI Medical Statement. A doctor’s clearance may be required for certain medical conditions.

• Prior Experience: Completion of SSI Try Scuba or equivalent introductory dive experience is recommended.

Materials Needed

• Swimsuit and towel.

• Sunscreen and hat.

Materials Provided

• All necessary scuba equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, tank, weights).

• SSI Digital Training Materials for Basic Diver.

• SSI Digital Recognition Card upon completion.

Duration

• Approximately 8 hours (including theory, confined water practice, and two open water dives).
