Half-DayScubaDivingTrips

A half-day trip is two guided boat dives in the morning, from $110 with equipment, guide and hotel pickup included.

The reefs are a short boat ride from the beach, so you are picked up early and back at your hotel with the afternoon free.

Two happy divers heading back to the boat after a morning dive

Why the short boat ride matters

Diani sits on a fringing reef, which grows out from the shore rather than sitting offshore behind a lagoon. The practical result is that our dive sites are a few minutes out instead of an hour's crossing — less time travelling, more time underwater, and a trip that fits around the rest of a holiday.

It is also why families book with us. One person dives for the morning, everybody meets for lunch.

What a half day includes

Two dives

Two reef sites chosen on the morning for conditions and for the divers on board, with a surface interval between them.

Hotel pickup and return

Across Diani, Galu, Tiwi, Ukunda and selected nearby accommodation. Confirmed with your booking.

All equipment

Fitted at the centre — mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tanks and weights.

Food and water on board

Fresh fruit and drinking water at the surface interval, fresh juice back at the centre.

Who it suits

—Certified divers with a family or partner who is not diving
—Guests on a short stay who want to dive without giving up a whole day
—Divers building up several mornings across a week
—Anyone who would rather dive in the calmer morning water

Full-day trips exist for Kisite-Mpunguti, where the crossing makes a morning impossible.

Frequently asked questions

What time do we leave?

Early, because the morning water is usually the calmest. Your exact pickup time is confirmed with your booking once we know the tide.

Can I do just one dive?

Yes. Tell us when you book — a single-dive morning is quoted differently from a two-dive trip.

Can a beginner join?

A Try Scuba session is its own half-day programme with an instructor. Guided trips are for certified divers.

Can non-divers come on the boat?

Often yes, as snorkellers where the site suits it. Ask when you book and we will put you on a trip that works for both.

Who you will dive with

Seven people run the centre, four of them born and raised in Diani Beach. Between the four instructors sit more than 13,000 logged dives on this stretch of the Indian Ocean. Two qualified dive guides, Sampuli and Captain Michael, guide dives alongside them.
