PrivateBoat Hire

The boat, the skipper and the crew for your group and nobody else.

Useful for diving, snorkelling, a sunset run along the coast, or a day where the plan changes as it goes.

What a charter is used for

Private diving and snorkelling

Your own dive day with sites chosen for your group, or a mixed trip where divers and snorkellers share the boat.

Kisite-Mpunguti day trips

The crossing to the marine park is a full day, and a private boat is the only way to leave early and dive it away from the crowd.

Family and group days

Mixed ages, mixed plans, and the freedom to come back when the youngest has had enough.

Coastal cruising

A run along the Diani coastline with a swim stop. Diani looks different from the water, and most visitors never see it that way.

What is on board

A skipper and crew who work this coast daily, safety equipment, shade, drinking water and fresh fruit. Dive or snorkel equipment is added according to what the day is for, and a guide or instructor comes along if anybody is getting in the water with us.

Boat specification, capacity and available departure points are confirmed on enquiry rather than stated here, because they depend on the day and the tide.

How the day is planned

You tell us roughly what you want from the day; we tell you what the tide and the conditions allow. Then we agree a departure time, a route with an alternate, and a return time. Nothing about a charter removes the requirement for a plan — it just means the plan is yours.

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit?

Confirmed on enquiry with the boat and the day. Tell us your group size and we will tell you what works.

Half day or full day?

Both. A Diani reef day works as a morning; Kisite needs a full day because of the crossing.

Can we bring food and drink?

Yes. Water and fruit are on board, and catering arrangements are agreed with your booking.

What if the weather turns?

We move the day. A charter is not a reason to go out in conditions we would not otherwise dive.

Who you will dive with

Seven people run the centre, four of them born and raised in Diani Beach. Between the four instructors sit more than 13,000 logged dives on this stretch of the Indian Ocean. Two qualified dive guides, Sampuli and Captain Michael, guide dives alongside them.
